i hope these "oops i crapped my pants" are as absorbent as they claim to be.

elsa: i'm bear's mom, and i'm a grad student. this site documents maryke's musings while she helps me do "research for my dissertation." i'll do my best to keep the text minimal and let the webcam shots speak for themselves, although i know i'll be unable to resist captioning most of the time. the occasional digital camera shot will inevitably work its way in, too. for those who don't already know her, maryke prefers her name pronounced like "maria" but with a "k" wedged in between the "i" and the "a" - y'know, for flair.
